MirrorOfMe's name card designed and printed by CleverMunkey Design & Print

Taking a step forward in Sun-U Accounting and Finance Society (ACS), we've decided to come up with some stamp card system to solve several issues. The card design were designed by our very own member and after numerous amendments and constructive critism, it was finally ready to be printed.

We looked around for the best pricing card printing shop, with the usual located in a shopping mall, it wasn't cheap. For every 100 cards (one box) it costs approximately RM35.

It was until Henry Lee showed me his recently printed name card and told me that he is able to make three boxes (a hundred name cards in each box) of it at only RM35, it struck us that this is where we should get our card printed.

Well, not only the ACS stamp card, but also my very own name card. :P I have looked around for some time, planning to get my own name card printed for ease of giving it out if I attend events and such, but the hold back was always the cost of printing.
But now, with this affordable printing done by Henry, I did not think long before I told him that I want to do a name card of my own as well. And yeah, that's mine as see above. Simple and business like. I like! :)

Bet most of you are looking for a card printer one way or another and below is his offer for name card printing!

Not only does he offer name card printings, he also does flyer, poster, envelope, letterhead, booklet, paper bag, folder, calender, bill book, ang pow, car sticker, magnet, coaster, note book, paper fan, bunting and banner printing as well!

Samples of previous works is as seen in the image below.
"It's not everyday that you find an affordable card printing service which comes with good quality. But here it is offered to you by CleverMunkey Design & Print!"
Promotion for the name card printing ends 31st May 2012! If you're interested contact him asap. His contact details is as seen in the poster above or...

Laser Tag Day Out with Nuffnang, RAM Entertainment and LaserWarzone

What was supposed to be a busy Friday with the Accounting and Commerce Society club activities and meeting, turned out to be a day out with Nuffnang, RAM Entertainments and the team from Laser Warzone at IOI Mall, Puchong.

Glad to have managed to free up my Friday evening to join the bloggers laser tag session arranged by them in conjunction with the Lockout Movie Screening.

Each invited bloggers were given the opportunity to call three other people for the event. It was really hard to recruit anyone even if it's a free invite. It was definitely a busy Friday for everyone in KL. lol. Managed to get Ben and his cousin to go with me. Only two because the other one decided to ffk last minute =/

Anyway, what was the event all about?

I was quite clueless as to what it really is until we were brief before the games started. Really thought it was some random blogger gathering sponsored by those parties.

In actual fact, after we were briefed, we were told that we are given TWO (2) rounds of laser tag to play. Basic team vs team game - 4 people per team. I was in the Blue team together with Joel, Iris and Nadia.
It would be a competition based event where at the end of the day, we would get the chance to win soft toys, coupons from Laser Warzone and exclusive merchandise from RAM Entertainments. Hence, it turned out to be a fun-fulfilling battle in the arena.

I have previously played l in a laser tag tournament at Galactic Laser, Mid Valley and only a week or two before, I was there again at Mid Valley with my friends for three games of fun laser tag. And here I was again playing laser tag.

One thing about it is that it is not painful at all since all you do is get hit with a laser on lighted targets on the vest that you're wearing. Totally harmless but it is dead tiring. Tired from all the running, hiding, squatting and sit-ups that you tend to do while facing your enemy in the arena.
The guns here looks more advance. On the weapon itself, there a screen which tells you things like your score, weapon and shield. There's also a button which allows you to change weapon. Attached to your weapon is the sensor suit. It was small but it was quite heavy giving me the feeling that it was about to drop if I don't strap it tightly on myself.

Outside, there's two television screen attached on the wall. One was divided into four screens with cctv footage of certain spots in the arena to allow people on the outside to know how a game is going on the inside. The second one shows a graphical image of the scores and the score board.
It really gives you the hype to see who will end up being the winner with the intense competition as shown on the graph. Every one was aiming to be the first on the score chart to walk away with the grand prize since the winner of the team vs team event was to walk away with the big frog.
haha! But I really wanted to lose since I was more interested in Om Nom from Cut The Rope. :P We actually sat there during tea-break counting how many Om Nom were there. If there was enough to be given to all participants or was it for the winner only. lol!

Third and last game was the most intense one since the winner would walk away with the pink seahorse as seen in the picture above.

The Lockout Challenge: The game was played based on the movie Lockout. A group of 8 will enter the arena, all bearing a blue on their sensory vest which represents a 'prisoner'. Several seconds into the game, two players' vest will change into red hence, making them the 'agent'.

For every 5 second of holding on to the 'agent' position, 50 points will be given. No points will be given to the prisoners for remaining as a prisoner. Hence, as a prisoner, your job is to hunt down the agents and get the 'agent' status, hide and gain marks. It's best to hunt alone because everyone will turn on you if you hunt together with the others and you turn into an agent then. haha. You'll really get to see how the game changes within seconds.

Got the highest in my group but who knew that Ben was so good in hiding that he hid for about 5 minutes (!) without anyone realising it and gained a lot of points from it.
At the end of the day, we did certainly have fun with the funny actions that we did in the arena - me colliding with Richard when we appear from some corner and we certainly did a laugh on it; and Sherrie chasing after us round and round like we were playing merry-go-round lol

New Banana Leaf Makan Place: Michelle's Corner

Left a comment on Chester's Facebook status this morning when I saw his latest status update. Decided to have some fun with my comment.

But what I did not know is that he actually believed that "Michelle's Corner" exist and that I really judge the restaurant based on the adorable and sweet boss. I thought he was trolling me, trying to trick me in return. Little did I know that he actually believed me. HAHAHA! :P

Maybe the judging the owner based on look part might be true if I ever see some good looking guy working or owning a restaurant I might make several revisits to the restaurant. Tee Hee!

Yogurugen for a Healthy Intestinal System

I was invited to a health product (Yogurugen) launch several weeks back. I was late, so I missed out the product launch session but what I do understand about Yogurugen is new product being introduced in Malaysia which has the a function to ensure a healthy intestinal system by encouraging good bowel movements as well as to replenish your intestine with good bacteria.

Having to live in the city for most of my life with a hectic and continuously running schedule, I do find that there are times that it is easier to either skip lunch or dinner; combine any of those by having only brunch; or eat something fast and simple: fast food.

All this however, is what we call the "not so healthy" lifestyle because in the long run, it weakens our stomach, resulting in an unhealthy colon. What's worst is that studies has shown that our wastes are not entirely eliminated but in fact, it is accumulated within our large intestines. This combined with a weakened colon, we can only imagine what have been accumulated since we're young.

Sounds scary?

Understanding this health concerns, Cason Trading Sdn Bhd the distributor of a series of premium Japanese health and beauty products, introduces Yogurugen. This is a product which will help the circulation of the purified blood in the body and encourages natural excretion of wastes from the body.

Not only will it help excrete wastes but it also for the purpose of weight control and solution to bowel irregularities.

It is easy to consume and would be advised to be taken only when you're free of any engagements (weekends) because you are sure to make a visit to the washroom two (2) to four (4) hours after consumption. Taken weekly, one thing for sure is that you will experience comfort after the cleansing and the detox process due to the increase in probiotics released.

I was lucky enough to be given a set of the products which I have yet to use since I still have not found a suitable day in which I am free of any duties. But will probably try to clear this weekend to take my first dose of detox. :) But quite scared actually since this would be my first time trying a detox product out. lol

Yogurugen is available at all major Watsons outlets. For more information on the product, you can contact Cason Trading Sdn Bhd at +6 03 7880 6999 or visit their website at www.tokyoninki.com for more Japanese health products!

Road Trip to Ipoh

A week ago, marks the first long distance drive that I have made since I have received my driving licence 4 years ago - a drive to Ipoh and back again to KL on the same day.
Not going to deny that it was not tiring. It is very tiring and I had to constantly find something to entertain myself while driving and some of them happened to be singing, eating, looking at sceneries and snapping pictures. haha!

We were there to settle some family business but other than that, we managed to go around town for some good food for lunch.
We had our lunch at Thean Chun which is located in Old Town. There were so many people to a point that you have to queue for a table and wait for your order. Our order came about 30 minutes upon ordering.  Thewhich apparently is famous for their "Ipoh Hor Fun".

While waiting for our order (which took around 30 minutes to arrive!), my mum went over to the next door restaurant to get four caremel custard.
It was good except for the fact that the custard was not that soft. The shop that we were in claimed that their caremel custard is way softer and nicer but they were sold out for the day, hence, we didn't manage to get a taste of it.

All sort of beef ball with soup (RM8.40). Really really good that I am now still thinking about it though I don't quite know what type of beef balls the dark brown one is (it tasted like some loh mai kai thingy).

Their "Ipoh Hor Fun" which took forever to arrive. Does it taste really awesome? So, so. Noodles was good, soup was just okay. I still like the beef with soup as mentioned before.

Later that night, we had dinner at some restaurant named "Let's Rock!" haha! Really rocking since there were simply so many people there! Their specialty is curry fish and yeong tau fu kind of dishes.

Run in a self-service concept, you go over to their food counter to select the type of dishes you want and tell them the type of noodles that you would prefer to have - from 'lou shi fan' to 'bee hoon', 'curry mee' and 'hor fun'.
It was really good. Really liked their mushroom stuffed with pork paste (I think that's what it was) and fresh fish balls.

Ah..miss it already!

I think we'll be going back there for another day trip soon! Food was totally cool but the drive there wasn't really cool since I drove solo all the way there and back. Officially called myself the driver of the day and thanks to the awesome car which managed there and back again, safely. =D

Battleship (2012) | Movie Review

Battleship
Release Date: 12 April 2012
Running Time: 2 hours 12 minutes
Director: Peter Berg
Cast: Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, Rihanna,
Brooklyn Decker, Tadanobu Asano and Liam Neeson

Synopsis: Peter Berg (Hancock) produces and directs Battleship, an epic-scaled action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Inspired by Hasbro’s classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper’s fiancée; Alexander Skarsgård as Hopper’s older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper’s crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone’s superior (and Sam’s father), Admiral Shane. [Source]

Contains Spoilers
Started off with some random scene at the bar with alcohol drinks and a conversation between the Hopper brothers, it really got me thinking whether I was sitting in the right screening hall. But they caught up pretty quick and without realising it, the whole scene moved forward into the future, leaving me to pounder why the sudden change in settings and storyline.

Storyline
There was not much to its storyline because some part were simply predictable and funny to say. There was this one part where their ship was sinking. All the crew has already jumped off the ship in their rescue suits, into the portable boat. It was all but Alex and Captain Nagata (Commanding Officer of JDS Myoko) who ran up to the edge of the tilted ship, and jump off into the sea after that.

Sounds familiar?

Really looked like some parody of Titanic. You might have heard me telling Kishen (my +1 for the screening) "You jump, I jump. Just like in Titanic. Only this time it's bromance since it's two guys jumping off the boat." haha!

Weaponry and Visual Effects
Once they've moved forward to when Alex Hopper joined the Navy, got together with his brother's superior's daughter, Sam Shane, and how he is ALWAYS late for work; that's where the film name "Battleship" and its name clicked.

What they lack in terms of storyline and narratives, it is all compensated in their visual effects and the weaponry that the Navy uses.
Surround sound system in the cinema hall made the effects even better and kept us at the edge of our seats.

Battleship the Game
The most impressive part was when Captain Nagata showed Alex what the Japanese have known and been using against the Americans for over 20 years - to track movements based on water buoyant.
The exact same thing as the Hasbro's game of Battleship (well, duh! That's where the idea of the film came from right? \(-.-)/) but this time it's like a live game. It was quite a sight having to see them playing it for real.

Verdict
If you're looking for a film filled with visual effects, this would be it. Script and storyline wise it was not too bad because personally liked it although I was quite confused in some areas of the show - it was like an unfinished story.

But I was really amazed with the CGIs and Rihanna's acting was quite good so-to-say. However, it was really funny to see that whenever she jump into the sea or battle against the alien robots, her cap never leave her head. haha!

Ratings: 4/5 because I liked it! And Kishen too!

"It is amazing to see how they have made a game into a movie. Imagine seeing 'Snake and Ladder' being played in the cinemas." - Kishen. (he's going to kill me for this lol)

P.S. There's a short clip at the end of the credits which I missed. So if you're watching it any time soon, remember to stay till the end! :)

Thanks to Churp Churp and United International Pictures for the exclusive screening tickets! :)

Axiata Cup Semi Finals thanks to Nuffnang and Celcom

Thanks to Nuffnang and Celcom, Lynn and I were able to catch a live badminton game at Stadium Badminton Kuala Lumpur last two weekend - the Axiata Cup 2012 Semi Finals between Malaysia Tigers vs Indonesia Garuda.

The stadium was not full, car park was not a problem and getting into the stadium clearly was not a problem because at the end of the day, tickets were not needed. Free entrance. To think that I spent 2 hours circling around Kuala Lumpur just to get the tickets at Nuffnang's office two days before the game, was all a waste of time and petrol, I clearly was not too happy.
But that quickly changed with I was in the stadium atmosphere. The crowd was wild to a point that people brought drums and kompang to cheer for their favourites! Most of these drum players was made out of kids probably as young as 12 years old, made me think "Wow, they're so semangat!"

Game started off with a single game between Darren vs. Santosa which concluded with a win to Indonesia. The game then proceed to see a doubles game between Indonesia and Malaysia.

A very tense game that was well worth the night although again, we Malaysians ended up being frustrated with the scores. It was a really close game. And this is the one and only game that brought the "uh" and "ah" from all of us audience.

Third game was downright frustrating and wtf since we lost really badly. I don't think Taufik Hidayat even gave 50% of his energy into the game since he's against probably a new young player from Malaysia.

At every game interval, the crowd was entertained by a set of performance and one of them is Celcom's Cube with Party Rock Anthem.

Though we left with disappointment (especially on Lynn's part since she's a hardcore badminton fan and you should see the way she cheered! Lucky no one knows here there. haha!), but we were certainly entertained by the crowd there who managed to distract my attention from the game from time-to-time.

For instance, this Witch Doctor (as we named him) from the Indonesia fans corner who I think was on a huge adrenaline rush dancing away with his special glasses, cap and Indonesia's flag themed costume.
It is definitely a good first time experience to watch a live badminton game in the stadium. The good thing about watching it through the screen at home is that there will be zoom up images of the game, you get to watch it surrounded by all sort of snacks of your choice, lay down in an air-conditioned environment and chill with your family and friends.

What they do not show is the atmosphere of the crowd in the stadium. It was quite hard to see the reactions of the players on the court from afar. The big screens on the stadium is so small that I could barely see what was happening. The sound system was so bad that I could barely hear it over the crowd's noise.

When we were doubtful about whether the shuttle is 'in' or 'out', we took the live crowd indication as a guide - the cheers from the Indonesian or Malaysian fans. They seem to know the score right after the shuttle hits the ground. lol

Street Dance 2 (2012) | Movie Review

Disclaimer: Do note that this review contain spoilers to the film
Street Dance 2

Release Date: 05 April 2012

Genre: Musical / Dance

Running Time: 1 Hour 24 Minutes

Director: Max Giwa, Dania Pasquini
Cast: Tom Conti, George Sampson, Falk Hentschel

Synopsis: To beat the world’s best dance crew, streetdancer Ash (Falk Hentshel), with new friend Eddie (George Sampson), set off to gather the greatest streetdancers from around Europe, falling in love with beautiful salsa dancer Eva (Sofia Boutella) in Paris. [Source]

Contains Spoilers
Choreography
One word: awesome. Although I do not know much about dance, but watching the final battle between "Popcorn" vs "Invincible" gave me the want to hop onto the stage on screen and dance away with them. It is not the normal hip-hop, popping, and break dance choreography but the Latin dance fusion that they've included in their choreography. It gives much more feeling and meaning to their performance.

Storyline
There weren't much to the storyline. It was pretty much predictable on what will happen next. Joanne (my +1 for this screening) and I was predicting what will happen next throughout the show - "So, they're going to kiss", "They're going to end up being in bed together", "Eva (Sofia Boutella) is going to make an appearance soon." You know, things like that were pretty much predicted throughout the show.

What amuses me most is the dance moves in the film that I know I will never be able to follow. lol. So much harder than what I have learned in Zumba classes before - which I ended up tiring my mind (and not body) at the end of the day since I've used most of my mind and brains to control my body movements.

Message
Though it comes with a predictable storyline, the message behind the whole act was meaningful. Teaches you that you have got to do everything with your heart to make it a success. Simply doing this without putting your heart to it and you'll find yourself losing direction. Highly applicable to me now with all the things that is happening in my life now. The commitment I have to make and goals that I am aiming.
George Sampson <3
Verdict
You should watch it if you're interested in dance though do not put much expectation in terms of storyline. The dance moves were awesome since it's something different than the other dance films - the presence of a Latin Fusion dance.

Personal Ratings: 3/5

Wok Dish Way | Food Review

Wok Dish Way
In Mandarin this particular restaurant is called Bu Zi Dao. Why? Because the owner has experienced what we all experienced before:

Person A: What to have for lunch?
Person B: Where should we have lunch?

Common Answer: Bu Zi Dao ("I don't know")

And hence, whenever that word come across your mind, you would think of this particular restaurant of his. Quite a unique concept isn't it?

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very homely with the decorations and furniture. Nothing too exaggerating.

We were first served with several drinks of our choice...
[Left] Cincau Soy Bean [RM3.50] , Special Drink [RM3.50], Strawberry Special Drink [RM3.50]
That's mine on the most right - Strawberry Special Drink RM3.50. Ice-blended strawberry with longan and pineapple. Like it a lot but it's a common drink which you can find it else where though the price for this drink is quite reasonable.

[Left] Signature drink: Ice Blended Lei Cha [RM7.90] and Ice-Blended Kacang [RM6.90]
The speciality of this restaurant is Lei Cha, a very popular traditional Hakka tea-based concept. The ingredients used in the preparation of Lei Cha includes peanuts, sesame and mung beans. At Wok Dish Way, not only do they have the Ice Blended Lei Cha as part of the beverages menu, but they also have various dishes that comes with it.
For first-timers (like me) I realised that this dish does not really suit my taste buds. Didn't really like the taste of the soup but the rest liked it. So it was probably just me.

You are supposed to pour a handful of the soup into the rice dish that comes in that set meal. But the weird me prefer to eat them without the soup.
Lei Cha with brown rice (RM8.90)
Lei Cha with white rice (RM7.90)
Lei Cha Fried Rice (RM9.40)
Liked the Lei Cha Fried Rice the most but then again I ate it without the soup although technically it is supposed to be consumed together with the Lei Cha soup. I somehow didn't like the taste of Lei Cha soup - 'bittery' and plain.

Besides Lei Cha, there are also many other dishes offered by this restaurant. One of them being the (awesome) Fermented Bean Curd with Pork [RM8 - Small / RM15 - Large]
It is an awesome side dish. Crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside. Just melts in your mouth once consumed. I could happily eat just this together with rice. *saliva dripping*

Claypot Pork Trotter with Vinegar (RM11.90)
With a slight spice (you could see the red chilli that comes with it!), thick and tasty gravy and pork trotters, you could never go wrong with this dish.

Mee Hoon Kueh (RM6.90)
One of my favourites. This dish is something that we are familiar with, pan mee, only this time, it is a Johor style pan mee. The noodles are hand-made and it is in the form of thick non-uniform cubes. I quite like this. This will probably be dish of my choice the next time I'm there again.

Crispy Fried Chicken (RM15)
Living up to its name, crispy it really is. Even by just having the crumbs, it tastes really good.

Crispy Seaweed and Pork Floss (RM7.90)
A side dish which I am sure would interest people to simply have a munch or two while catching up with their friends and family.

Sweet and Sour deep fried Talapia (RM15, RM25 or RM35)

Jiang Bao Dish (RM10)
Super spicy to fit my taste (this is from someone who cannot even stand chilli ketchup!) hence, after a warning from Tony and a small bite of it, I gave up trying.

Special Cucumber (RM4)
Nothing special about this but a side dish that was served to us. Only the sauce is worth mentioning though I still didn't quite like it.

Last but not least, is my all time favourite: Cendol (RM6.90 [L]; RM3.50 [S])
I simply loved it.
A good cold desert in this scorching hot weather.
