This would mark as the 600th blog post; 4 years and 4 months down the road for michleong.blogspot.com. It's been quite a journey filled with experience and change.
The 600th post will be filled with our, BAF August 2009, adventure to Lang Tengah. A graduation trip. :)
It took us around 6.5 to 7 hours of drive up to Terengganu with several rest stops in between. An early morning drive, which meant that we did not manage to get much sleep on our way there especially those who were in-charged in driving. Despite the lack of sleep, we still managed to follow through the list of fun activities throughout the day - adrenaline rush!
Parked our car at the parking space available at Merang Jeti area. Costs us RM45 for three days of parking in a zinc roof-ed area with constructions on one side of the parking area.
The boat to the island at 11.00pm took around 30 to 45 minutes which gave some of us some time to catch a wink even if it's only for 5 minutes.
After doing all the check-in necessities at D'Coconut Lagoon, we moved into our respective rooms.
That was the Superior Quad sharing room on the East Wing (older wing) with 4 beds, dresser, mini fridge, cupboard, air-conditioner and (quite) spacious bathroom. It is the best room as compared to the other rooms - Standard Triple sharing room, East Wing - which only had an air-conditioner, a bathroom and 3 beds.
After all that chaos, it was lunch time. Food wasn't that bad although sometimes there were stuff that isn't fully cooked or tastes weird according to some of my other friends. Though, I find it okay especially the breakfast served on our last morning there - sausages, toasts and baked beans.
Then we were off for several beach volleyball games (we brought our own ball) at the makeshift court available at our resort.

First time playing, and it definitely got me into the game. Never liked it because it hurt my hands really bad. But I guess, when you're into the game with your group of friends because you didn't want to be on the loosing end who have to drink shots as punishment, you just forget about the soreness for that few seconds.

We lost anyway :/ but it was all fun.
Rental for the snorkelling gears (a life jacket and snorkelling googles) was RM15 per day (since I was charged RM30 for two days of rental).

Three spots of snorkelling around Lang Tengah Island on our first snorkelling trip. And this marks the first time that I am able to enjoy the sight underwater since I bought the powered googles the day before * squeals in happiness*
Didn't know the sight was so awesome! The ever colourful school of fishes that swims around and corals. It was a sight. But I bet you that it's so much better in Redang since I remembered seeing a lot more colour that what I have seen in this snorkelling trip.
After the snorkelling trip, we were again back to the resort for some leisure time either at the pool, rooms or simply enjoying ourself around the area.
After a quick tea break with Maggi noodles and shower, we were then off for a hike to see the sunset. First time walking through the forest, make it seem quite far.

It felt quite near on the second day though with the ants and all which I have learned to ignore quite a bit. Our walk to the West side of Lang Tengah island was to watch this beauty.
Although it wasn't very much of a sunset when we were there because of the clouds and mists. It was still pretty though.
With all the beautiful scenery seen, there's a bad to it too. The island feels like it is the house of all ants that I have seen throughout my life. And I'm not talking about five or ten of them. In fact, it is a whole kampung of them!

Ant rampage. Couldn't even enjoy sitting on the beach benches in peace without worrying about it. :|
At night was the drinking session where I again drank quite a bit to a point that I puked. This time though, I slept through the night peacefully. Probably it's because there isn't a worry about lizard shitting on my head. haha!
More on the next post! :)
