What was supposed to be a busy Friday with the Accounting and Commerce Society club activities and meeting, turned out to be a day out with Nuffnang, RAM Entertainments and the team from Laser Warzone at IOI Mall, Puchong.
Glad to have managed to free up my Friday evening to join the bloggers laser tag session arranged by them in conjunction with the Lockout Movie Screening.
Each invited bloggers were given the opportunity to call three other people for the event. It was really hard to recruit anyone even if it's a free invite. It was definitely a busy Friday for everyone in KL. lol. Managed to get Ben and his cousin to go with me. Only two because the other one decided to ffk last minute =/
Anyway, what was the event all about?
I was quite clueless as to what it really is until we were brief before the games started. Really thought it was some random blogger gathering sponsored by those parties.
In actual fact, after we were briefed, we were told that we are given TWO (2) rounds of laser tag to play. Basic team vs team game - 4 people per team. I was in the Blue team together with Joel, Iris and Nadia.
It would be a competition based event where at the end of the day, we would get the chance to win soft toys, coupons from Laser Warzone and exclusive merchandise from RAM Entertainments. Hence, it turned out to be a fun-fulfilling battle in the arena.
I have previously played l in a laser tag tournament at Galactic Laser, Mid Valley and only a week or two before, I was there again at Mid Valley with my friends for three games of fun laser tag. And here I was again playing laser tag.
One thing about it is that it is not painful at all since all you do is get hit with a laser on lighted targets on the vest that you're wearing. Totally harmless but it is dead tiring. Tired from all the running, hiding, squatting and sit-ups that you tend to do while facing your enemy in the arena.
The guns here looks more advance. On the weapon itself, there a screen which tells you things like your score, weapon and shield. There's also a button which allows you to change weapon. Attached to your weapon is the sensor suit. It was small but it was quite heavy giving me the feeling that it was about to drop if I don't strap it tightly on myself.
Outside, there's two television screen attached on the wall. One was divided into four screens with cctv footage of certain spots in the arena to allow people on the outside to know how a game is going on the inside. The second one shows a graphical image of the scores and the score board.
It really gives you the hype to see who will end up being the winner with the intense competition as shown on the graph. Every one was aiming to be the first on the score chart to walk away with the grand prize since the winner of the team vs team event was to walk away with the big frog.
haha! But I really wanted to lose since I was more interested in Om Nom from Cut The Rope. :P We actually sat there during tea-break counting how many Om Nom were there. If there was enough to be given to all participants or was it for the winner only. lol!
Third and last game was the most intense one since the winner would walk away with the pink seahorse as seen in the picture above.
The Lockout Challenge: The game was played based on the movie Lockout. A group of 8 will enter the arena, all bearing a blue on their sensory vest which represents a 'prisoner'. Several seconds into the game, two players' vest will change into red hence, making them the 'agent'.
For every 5 second of holding on to the 'agent' position, 50 points will be given. No points will be given to the prisoners for remaining as a prisoner. Hence, as a prisoner, your job is to hunt down the agents and get the 'agent' status, hide and gain marks. It's best to hunt alone because everyone will turn on you if you hunt together with the others and you turn into an agent then. haha. You'll really get to see how the game changes within seconds.
Got the highest in my group but who knew that Ben was so good in hiding that he hid for about 5 minutes (!) without anyone realising it and gained a lot of points from it.
At the end of the day, we did certainly have fun with the funny actions that we did in the arena - me colliding with Richard when we appear from some corner and we certainly did a laugh on it; and Sherrie chasing after us round and round like we were playing merry-go-round lol
