It was a Thursday as I made my way to Taman Tun Dr. Ismail for my facial appointment. Reached right on the dot and I was lucky enough to have a good parking spot - right in front of the facial shop.

Marique Wellness was the beauty saloon that I have made an appointment with. I was first greeted by their friendly staff, Elaine and was later led to the changing room to change into some kimono-like clothes - which made me look so different. haha!

This is their locker room where they provide convenient locker facilities for their clients to keep their possessions.

Then I was lead to their comfortable lounge to fill up some forms and to answer some questions with regards to my previous facial details. This was the awkward part when I told her things like "I am not sure when was the last time I had my facial done", "I only use one face product which is the facial wash because I am too lazy to do anything else", "I do not know what type of facial skin that I have" and etc. lol? 

After the Q&A session, I was lead to their facial rooms which spells nice, clean, simple and comfort.

First up, was a welcome body massage by the therapist, Nichole, after I got myself settle on their facial bed. It was a simple body pressing thing which wasn't much. After that, a skin cleansing treatment before the beauty consultant, Elaine, did a skin check for me.

So guess what? I was told that although my skin is slightly dry in some areas but the other parts of it is perfectly normal and is like a baby skin. hahahaha! My listening skill only took in the good part - the baby skin part - and left out the rest. Okay, I did hear, Elaine told me about how I should take care of it or else things pigmentation would happen before I know it.

After skin consultant, the therapist then continued my with a facial scrub, steam and extraction. Later, I was told that I would be getting the multivitamin treatment which "uses a perfect blend of multivitamins to achieve real skin improvement. It maintains the elasticity of the skin and helps stimulate the vital functions of the skin, it includes a non-irritating exfoliation and a vitamin recovery masque to noticeably improve moisture in the skin, your skin will look more radiant within days!" The main active ingredient of this treatment are:

• Carrot root extract;
• Idebenone;
• Hydrolysed algin;
• Sodium Hyalunic
• Hydrolysed glycosaminoglycans

It contained both hydrating serum which serves a purpose to enhance facial moisture and  restore balance for dehydrated skin, and provide skin softness; and brightening serum which tones down pigmentation and light its name, to lighten the skin tone. After the application of each serum, a cold iron was used to penetrate the serum into my skin. The cold iron was quite refreshing. I actually enjoyed having it rolling along my face.

In between the treatment, they have also given me a hand and face massage which was absolutely comforting and relaxing.

A face mask was then used on me and I was then left for around 20 to 30 minutes to just simply lie down and...er...I think I fell asleep. With the background soft music that was playing around the room, comfortable bed, thick blanket and eyes covered I was feeling so relaxed and calm that I couldn't help but doze off. :P

So, the after effects of my facial?

Eyes looked so big because I was without spectacles and hence, I couldn't see. haha! 

The therapist added another layer of hydrating and brightening serum together with moisturiser, toner and sunblock. The many layers that if I was asked to do, I would avoid it at all cost. The result of her hard work made my face look so shiny, bright and refreshing. Don't you think so?

I left the saloon full of satisfaction. :)
